Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing, reviewing and overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, imaging, payroll functions and special projects as assigned. Expected to develop and motivate the respective teams, and to support other functional area leaders to help achieve the company's overall objectives.

 

  •  Oversees the general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, imaging and payroll functions
  • Directly responsible for closing of monthly financial records
  • Facilitate the preparation of various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, forecasts, analyses and business reviews
  • Identifies, evaluates, communicates and works with other functional leaders to understand changes in the company’s financial trends
  • Helps develop and maintain compliance to an effective internal control structure around accounting and financial reporting
  • Supervisory responsibilities include
    • interviewing and training employees
    • planning, assigning and directing work
    • appraising performance and disciplining employees

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

1.  Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • 8+ years of accounting / finance experience
  • Minimun 4 years supervisory experience

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of applicable finacial laws and regulations, standards, and codes at the organizational, state and federal level
  • Demonstrated experience in talent management and employee development
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA
  • Experience in the Transportation Industry
  • Lawson experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
